Before I ever started recording my own music, I was the go-to singer for hooks. Rappers in my circle knew my voice could bring a song to life, so they’d hit me up whenever they needed a smooth, soulful chorus. At the time, I was happy playing that role—staying in the background, adding my touch to someone else’s vision.
But the more I recorded, the more I started asking myself: What’s the hook gonna be… if the song is mine?
That question changed everything. It pushed me to start writing my own music, finding my voice beyond just choruses. I wasn’t just meant to complement someone else’s lyrics—I had my own stories to tell. Stepping into my artistry felt like a natural next step, and once I did, there was no turning back.
Looking back, those early collaborations shaped me in so many ways, teaching me about rhythm, writing, and the power of my voice. But when I finally started recording my own music, that’s when I truly found my sound.
