Mic Check… It’s Been a Minute! 🎤

It’s been a minute since I’ve checked in here on Mic Check, actually, way too long.

My last blog was back in June of last year, and I owe y’all an apology! I never intended to let this much time pass.

But life has been LIFE-ING, and music has been MUSIC-ING! 😂

I’ve been busy performing, creating, growing, and building my band. There have been so many beautiful moments along the way, and I realize I haven’t done the best job of slowing down and sharing those moments with you here.

So… Mic Check is officially back! 🎤

And what better way to come back than with a little Vegas story?

Sista Soul Goes to Vegas ✨

Most recently, I had the opportunity to perform at the Radio Connect Awards in Las Vegas, and what an experience it was! The funny thing is, performing wasn't even the original plan. I went to Vegas to support my friend B Smooth, an artist and radio personality who was being honored at the awards. I was excited just to be there to celebrate him and witness his moment.

But somehow, I ended up receiving a beautiful gift of my own: the opportunity to perform for a brand-new audience. Sometimes you walk into a room simply to support someone else, and God has something waiting in that room for you too.

I got to walk the red carpet, do interviews, connect with artists and music professionals from different places, and then step on that stage and do what I love.

And when it was time to perform, I did exactly what I came to do…

SHINE BRIGHT. ✨

There’s something special about taking Sista Soul into a new room, especially outside of Denver, and introducing people to the music, the energy, and the heart behind what I’m building.

I left Las Vegas grateful, inspired, and reminded that every room matters. Every connection matters. Every opportunity to share your gift matters.

There’s So Much More to Share

Vegas is only one piece of what has been happening.

I’ve been building my band, performing more, growing as an artist and businesswoman, and continuing to discover what I want Sista Soul to become. There have been wins, lessons, changes, and plenty of moments that deserve their own Mic Check.

And this time, I promise I’m not waiting another year to tell you about them. 😂
